I was looking through old facebook pictures today and thinking about my trip last Summer. No, not because I have no life, but because I was at work and being unproductive. I have a sore throat, okay?
Anyway, in my semi-comfortable work chair with my space heater going full blast I let my mind wander back to those happy summer days...then I found a picture of Mary and me in Rogliano, on those God awful bunk beds we slept in for a month. Every time I climbed into the top bunk I thought it was going to collapse on Mary and squish her into a pancake, which would have made her very angry (and very flat), and would have ended with me sleeping on the floor, or the balcony.
The bunk bed never did collapse but they were the smallest darn things I have ever slept in. I guess I shouldn't complain, at least Mary and I had our own beds. Some people in the program had to share.
I spent the last 2 days in my awesome bed, pretty much 24/7. I'm sick. It's a gross, green snot kind of sick, not the swine and/or regular flu. At least I don't think it is, since I got both a flu shot and the H1N1 mist. The mist was weird and made my snot taste really sugary for about 3 hours afterwards, and I'd rather have had the shot. Not that I enjoy having a needle stuck in me or anything, but the mist made my throat feel really slimy all the rest of the day. But hopefully now I won't catch either disease, since I am a total wuss when it comes to being sick. Seriously, I make a huge deal of having a tiny temperature or a runny nose. I act like I'm dying and demand chicken noodle soup and sympathy in equal doses. It is pathetic.
I hate being sick.
I'm glad I took some days off school to be sick, since it turns out I am working the whole weekend. All day Saturday, which has been crazy because maintenince forgot to set up tables for the bridge club, and Sunday from 11-4. The firemen are putting on a Thanksgiving Dinner for seniors on Sunday, and I'm not really sure why I'm working. I have no idea what they'll need me to do. Maybe I can leave early and lie in bed with my homework and cats. It is my favorite thing to do on a Sunday.
